Studium Generale Held by Business Administration Department

On 1st October 2015, The Business Administration (BA) Department of Swiss German University (SGU) organized a Studium Generale with the topic “Emerging  ICT and New Business Concept.” Studium Generale is a tradition in campus life to broaden students’ knowledge as well as stimulate their critical thinking and a way to contribute to current issues and development. The Studium Generale was enthusiastically attended by more than 100 BA students from semester 1, 5, 7 and lecturers.

The Studium Generale was opened by the Rector of SGU, Ms. Filiana Santoso. Mr. Alexander Rusli, President Director and CEO of Indosat was the guest speaker and gave a presentation titled “Emerging ICT and New Business Concept.” In his lecture, he stated that Internet penetration and mobile businesses are rapidly changing industries and the expectations of consumers. These phenomena is radically generating new concept of businesses that are changing the way people do business. It creates opportunities with enormous market potential although challenges still remain and creative young people will be the engine to see the opportunity in the Indonesia market.

During the question and answer session, participants asked many questions ranging from business opportunities, consumer behavior, branding to maintaining work-life balance. At the end of the lecture, Ms. Filiana Santoso presented a token of appreciation to Mr. Alexander Rusli and thanked him for his time and willingness to share his valuable knowledge and experience with us. Head of Business Administration Department, Ms. Nila Hidayat also presented a token of appreciation to Ms. Riniwaty Sinaga, Indirect Channel Division Head of Indosat, for her great cooperation making this Studium Generale happen.
