International Culinary Business Program
As one of the leading business sectors in Indonesia, and backed by attractive target consumers (a large number of middle-income people and millennials), culinary is a sector with a bright future in the Indonesian market. The market has become increasingly interested in the ‘foodie’ scene, with a desire to try new cuisines and dining concepts. With that said, demand for professional culinary operators in Indonesia is crucial to the growth of this industry.
Since the beginning of 2018, Swiss German University (SGU) has started to ignite the market’s interest by providing fun and interactive cooking class sessions for high school students in the area. Recently, SGU, as a higher education institution, responded to this trend by introducing the new International Culinary Business joint degree program with the International Management Institute (IMI), Switzerland. SGU believes in the need to equip our future generations with skills and knowledge to be professional culinary entrepreneurs in Indonesia.
Students of this program will receive in-depth knowledge and practical work in skills such as culinary techniques, gastronomy production, and other food and beverage related courses. However, these culinary skills will be enhanced further with knowledge of leadership, entrepreneurship, and digital technology enabling students to be successful in the industry.
